KP Pet Friendly Wireless PIR, designed to detect animals weighing over 22 pounds, ideal for locations with small animals present, can be used with the full range of KP Alarm Systems.

These Pet Friendly, Battery Powered Wireless PIR's are designed to work in conjunction with the full range of KP Wireless Alarm Systems, they have a 36 ft & 110 degrees detection pattern and a wireless range back to the receiver of 300 ft (line of sight).

Although these PIR's are designed to avoid detection of animals of below 22 pounds, please keep in mind that if you have more than one small animal present, they could trigger the sensor as their collective body heat may total more than the limit. If in doubt consider using Magnetic Contacts & Vibration Sensors on risk doors & windows.

Mounting the PIR Sensor:

The key to successful operation of any PIR sensor is choosing the correct location. A sensor mounted in a unsuitable location has the potential to cause false triggers and reduce performance. The main rules that should be followed are:

1) Mount the PIR into a corner of a room.
2) Avoid heat spots from bright lamps suddenly turning on or off.
3) Do not install immediately above a radiator.
4) Do not install in a glass roof conservatory.
